FRANKLIN METHOD® for Voice --- functional anatomy sessions
Embody your own anatomical awesomeness to learn about yourself like never before, no matter what your previous experience level.
FRANKLIN METHOD® for Voice --- functional anatomy sessions
Embody your own anatomical awesomeness to learn about yourself like never before, no matter what your previous experience level.
- Revolutionize your relationship with your body -- and your voice.
- Be in charge of the way your body functions onstage and off, not waiting for someone else to tell you if it's right or wrong or how to fix it.
- Discover a felt experience of anatomy within your own body, not as terminology in a book.
- Understand the way things actually work during movement, not though static positional directives or traditional advice parroted back without a fully functional basis.
- Differentiate the actions of various body parts to hone in on exactly what you are doing and whether that corresponds to ideal function, then integrate parts into a healthy, cooperative, efficient whole.
- Enhance your toolbox of options for solving problems -- and ideally proactively preventing them.
- Clarify your cuing with accurate, effective input for yourself and others.
- Gain confidence from knowing that your body is resilient and you are able to help it to find balance.
- Feel better in your body -- which is your instrument.
Through vivid imagery, self-touch, biomechanical hand modeling, illustrative props, and small functional movements, we will spend time getting to know our pelvis, shoulders, spine, knees, and fascia, as well as their links to our alignment, breathing, and more.
Apply this work to your singing, acting, teaching, directing, public speaking, movement, and every aspect of your daily life from exercising to sitting in a chair to walking up stairs.
FEEL BETTER - FUNCTION BETTER - SOUND BETTER
(P.S. - Singers and teachers: if a semester's worth of vocal pedagogy wasn't enough to unlock an entire body's worth of systems and processes,
you think that there might be more to consider than just the neck and part of the torso, or you've previously found anatomy instruction to be dry and non-implementable,
here is something experiential and different!)

"...a new perspective on singing!" - J.MG.
"...these methods you used are so measurable and helpful...and it helps me understand better why some things I do with students work [and] makes me even more aware...." - P.B.

From a recent pelvic floor workshop:
“I really enjoyed it, clear, concise, and actionable!”
“Loved the class! I will absolutely use the info!”

From a current client:
"These workshops have...expanded my understanding as a singer of what my instrument is to include much more than simply my airways and vocal tract. Workshops on shoulders, knees, and pelvis have been eye-opening as to how my body interacts with itself and forms one complete instrument, with many important pieces that I can control.
The Franklin Method classes also teach me the ability to make changes, and I have found myself implementing strategies Dr. Mastrian uses in Franklin Method workshops to adjust my singing on my own to be more comfortable, free, and intentional."

TECHNIQUE TOP-UPS
(monthly)
Ask Me Anything timeslots, designed for those who have previous voice experience and limited time: brief adjustments, big changes!
Like office hours, these voice spot-check sessions are ideal for laser input and gentle pushes when you've plateaued. They're mini masterclasses, like B12 shots for your voice -- just show up, ask questions or demonstrate an issue, and get feedback and solutions about vocal technique, diction, and more. Bonus: learn from watching me work with others! (Note: by necessity, these are not in-depth personal sessions like an individual hourlong voice lesson.)
